,Maggie Chen, LMSW, Pronouns: She/Her/Hers
I am no longer accepting clients at Dream Catchers Therapy Practice, but remain committed to
the mission and vision of the practice by providing virtual social work supervision. My approach to supervision is grounded in multicultural and feminist frameworks. Having solid and compassionate supervision is vital for the sustainability of working in the social work field, and I strive to create an affirming space to uphold and support each social worker’s well-being. I maintain a strong commitment to social justice and advocacy, and recognize the significant effects that systems of oppression can have on the well-being of individuals and communities. I specialize in anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma with adolescents and adults. I utilize a variety of therapeutic modalities, theories, and frameworks (Art-based, Attachment-based, CBT, EMDR, Narrative, Person-centered, Play, and Strength-based). I am a graduate of the University of Michigan School of Social Work, with a concentration in Interpersonal Practice and minor in Community Organization. I also serve as a Field Instructor for students completing their fieldwork at Girls Group, a nonprofit working with young women’s empowerment to achieve emotional and economic self-sufficiency. |
