Rizzo Nichols, LLMSW
As a therapist, I am dedicated to providing an inclusive space to come as you are and honor the inherent power behind your story. I value that each individual brings with them their own set of strengths. Through our work together, I will help you nurture these strengths and illuminate new perspectives to create meaningful change in your life.
Much of my work centers around positive psychology, a perspective focused on using character strengths and personal values to support and guide behaviors that lead to an optimized frame of mind. I use aspects of mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, attachment-focused therapy, internal family system therapy, and somatic experiencing to facilitate this process and empower clients’ agency. Just as every individual is unique, so is my approach to therapy. I utilize a variety of modalities to best serve your individual needs. It is my belief that the most effective interventions are ones that integrate a blended approach. I earned both my Bachelor of Arts in psychology and Masters in clinical social work from the University of Michigan. I enjoy working with teenagers, adults, couples and families to address a variety of mental health concerns. I specialize in depression, anxiety, trauma, sexual health and intimacy repair. I currently offer both in-person and Telehealth sessions to accommodate to client preferences. I value therapy being a resource that is assessable to all those who seek it. I offer an upbeat presence and non-judgmental curiosity in a collaborative space that puts your well-being and healing at the center. There is no issue too large or too small to seek support for. I honor the opportunity to get to know you as we embark on your journey of self-discovery and empowerment together. |
